This Banarasi saree comes in a deep rama green, the blue-leaning green that looks rich in both daylight and lamp light. The body carries large round peacock medallions woven in gold zari, with small pink flower accents dotted around the edges of each motif.
The wide pallu is the highlight. It is divided into square panels, each holding a peacock or a pair of peacocks, and framed by narrow pink stripes and a floral zari border. A fine pink edge runs along the saree and ties in with the pink blouse piece, which is woven with small gold flowers. Wear it for weddings, festive evenings and family functions, with a pair of gold jhumkas or oxidised chandbalis.
